What is a hybrid golf club?
A hybrid club is the combination of the iron and wood golf club. The benefits of both these types of club are combined into one.
The hybrids are replacing the long irons, replacing 2 and 3 irons. Hybrids are so much easier to hit. An 18-degree hybrid can replace a 2 iron, and as the hybrid club goes all the way up to 29 degrees, you don't need an iron in your bag until the 6 iron.
Hybrid clubs are used for long distance shots on the fairway and accuracy shots. But hybrid clubs are making recovery shots, say from behind a tree, a lot easier than they were with a long iron. Theses clubs are helping with recovery shots as well as getting the ball further down the green, closer to the hole and lowering your score.
What is the difference between men's and ladies golf club sets?
Height and weight are the two main differences. Although many women play with standard sized golf clubs, most do play with lighter graphite shafts.
Ladies clubs often have more loft on the club head so the ball will come up easier and have a little bit of offset. Offset is where the shaft is out in front of the head a fraction where as standard clubs have the shaft going right into the face.
What type of golf ball is best for my game?
Most people when they begin playing will prefer the hard ball because they will be able to hit it further down the green. But to really improve your game a more expensive ball with a softer cover is appropriate. A softer covered ball will help improve your feel and touch around the course and really help with your accuracy. Most shots on the course are lost through putting and chipping and a softer ball is far more effective for the task.
